Took a few hours today to visit some of the Penn State Museums, including the Penn State Frost Entomological Museum, the Matson Museum of Anthropology, and the Eberly Museum of Mineral Sciences.

I made my first omelette today. Yes, I'm 31, and have never made one. Never had the urge. But the more Gordon Ramsay I watch, the more I want to learn to cook. It came out okay. I added too much cheese and the omelette wouldn't flip properly, and the cheese became runny. The ham was good though, perhaps again, one too many pieces. Anyway, it was good. If I don't get salmonella poisoning, I'll know I did okay.

Windstorm at 18:02

Had a nasty wind storm blow through a few days ago. We inherited a new garbage can and a recycling bin! The neighboring towns were without power for much of one day, but we escaped unhurt. Our street sign, however, did not.

A Christmas gift was given to me a few months ago but we weren't able to cash in on it until Saturday. The Icers took on Delaware with the hopes of moving into a tie for first place. Their 6-2 victory was easy, full of penalties, and extremely brutal for an Icers game. It was fun.

Keep on reading for the Hi-Definition YouTube videos of some of the action including a 4 on 3 power play and a goal by PSU.

I managed to snag a dual core Opteron for my system and tonight had my first dual core experience. Other than gaming that manages two cores in the background, Windows can tell the applications which core to use. In this scenario, I'm converting a .MOV file on core#0 and using SageTV on core#1 to upscale my DirecTV on the second computer monitor. Very little slowdown doing these two huge tasks.

I hate the winter. Another 5 inches or so fell. Spring can't come soon enough.

Dropping Comcast was one of the best things I could have done. DirecTV has not only given me more options, they've given us subscribers, FOR FREE, some pretty awesome stuff. Last weekend was Free HBO and Cinemax weekend. Comedy Central HD is going live tonight. But not only that, two new updates have been issued, and I couldn't be happier.
