I hope tonight's the night. I really do. Though, even with fingers crossed, I honestly doubt I'll get the answer I want. I'm powerless in a situation that directly involves me. Sucks.

The worst feeling in the world has to be being out of the know. Whether it's in relation to your friends, or significant others, or just in passing, the feeling is unequalled. It knaws at you, day after day, slowly tearing your sanity apart, piece by piece, until all that is left is a blank stare. Your decisions to act on that feeling are counteracted by your conscience. You fight with yourself to make the right choices, yet, in doing so, are probably destroying the one thing you're fighting for. Your decisions seem both flawed and sound. But how can that be?

Turns out that one of the other front end coordinators might have pink eye. His roommate does and so he was told to not come into work until he's checked out. So, I'm taking half of his shift tonight and have to work from ~7.30-12.30am. No other plans. Make some more money. Why not?

Tonight, I walk alone. My shadow's the only one who's walking there beside me.

I finally received my long-awaited rare Promo disc by the guys of REVIVER. I bought a t-shirt featuring their logo on it (directly from them in the Netherlands!) and I got the disc. Why they had a hard time finding an accepting label is beyond me. The music is terrific. Patrick van Maurik's voice was never better. And the double kicks never less powerful. Can't wait for their new album. Rumor has it, the release date of ~Februrary 2005 is possible! You can check out samples from their Promo Disc or full songs from their Osiris' Eyes release by heading on over to my Heavy Metal is the Law page.

Despite the horrible headache I had when I awoke at 4.30 this morning, I feel fine now. It was a drag, literally, to get out of bed and into work. But once there, and with the coffee in me, and a KitKat, I felt fine. Things went smoothly too. It was my first day alone in the accounting office to open. I guess they trust me. Why would they?? I have to do it again tomorrow. It's kinda fun actually, being in charge with all that power.

Chaos I tell ya. It was a nuts! For whatever reason, people though they should shop at 11pm when there is only one cashier to handle them all. People getting aggrevated. Nighttime duties not being completed because I had to hop on register to handle the customers. AND to top it all off, every manager of every PA store in the chain will be visiting our store tomorrow for some seminar. That means we had to scrub the cracks in the floor with toothbrushes on top of everything else. I really really hate running the front end now. I love the accounting office.

It rained. And then kept raining. And despite what Kelly might call it, it was NOT just a passing moisture moment...even though those words fit the situation perfectly. Some of the area got 7 inches of rain, some a little less. This town, however, didn't see any flooding. Neighboring cities were flooded in completely. Roads closed. Houses flooded. It's not just the Gulf coast which gets hammered by the hurricanes. We, in Appalachia, get creamed every time there's a landfall as well. My house was spared, luckily.
