Porsche 944 Rebuild
Road Rash at 17:09

I got a parking pass for my new job. I thought it'd be a good thing to drive to work in the rain and wind rather than bike, especially if I'm dragging a laptop around with me. But the very first day I drove, I misjudged the distance between my car and the curb. The end result is not pretty. sad

You can see the damage is more than just scuffing. The panel has been dented inward and it has been scored pretty badly. I don't believe there's any metal in this rocket panel though. It's a flaky, paper-like alloy of some sort that's peeling off like when cardboard gets wet. It's also painted with a bumpy surface which I don't believe is a sticker, but I could be wrong.

I can't believe I did it, to be honest. No one to blame but myself. But with a paint job on the car being required, and the lack of funds to do it over the last few years, there's probably little hope that I'll end up getting this fixed. The older it gets, the more it seems likely I'll end up buying another project car instead. [There's a Mazda 280zx for sale at work...]
