Porsche 944 Rebuild
Hunting Idle at 09:38

After the new ISV was installed, I'm chasing a hunting idle. The car surges to 1800rpm, then falls to 1200rpm, then surges to 1800rpm, back to 1200rpm. It's barely cracking 30 degrees out so progress will be slow. Clamping off the ISV resolves the issue. However, I can't be driving around with a vice grips inside the engine bay.

My 1987 944 is exhibiting almost the same condition, the only difference being that my car oscillates between 1200 and 1600 RPM beginning three minutes after the cold start, even after replacing the ISV. Anyway, I am headed off to a short vacation and will try again in a couple of weeks. Hopefully after sitting unused for that time it will improve. I can only hope.
